Today our local governments face very serious challenges, perhaps the greatest of our lifetimes.

How well we meet these challenges will affect our environment, economy and social well being, both in the short term and for generations to come

These 'Environmental Sustainablity Principles for Local Governments' were prepared by the Santa Clara League of Conservation Voters (SCCLCV) to provide general guidelines to local governments to prepare for and take effective action to meet the significant challenges that are rapidly impacting our environment and live.
